DUBAI‌ ‌WELCOMES‌ ‌KOSHER‌ ‌FOOD‌ ‌

It is known that in Dubai meat and dairy products aren’t generally prepared, cooked, and served together within the same meal, and neither it is eaten in that manner. In the recent period, various restaurants have been asked to entertain kosher in Dubai and serve the kosher food which will in return attract more number of Israeli visitors and Jewish tourists during the peak seasons from all over the world.

Trade and tourism will likely to grow its branch between both the countries that is the UAE and Israel which was evident since Abraham Accords were signed at the white house and the ties began to get more normalize post-September which was in accords included Bahrain as well.

After this, it is seen that Dubai tourism has been promoting all the nearby hotels or restaurants to start serving kosher food after getting a kosher certification which will encourage more Israeli tourists. This was already started after some period in most parts of Dubai, hotel and restaurants started bringing in kosher meals which included the Burj Khalifa’s Armani hotel as well.

Let’s talk more about kosher food, what does it represent, and the laws circulating it.

  1. WHAT EXACTLY IS KOSHER FOOD

The term kosher is kosher food stands for fit or acceptable which refers to kashrut or the Jewish dietary laws. This law states that one cannot include pork and shellfish in this food type and all the meat or dairy products are prohibited from preparing, cooking, and serving together within the same meal, and neither it is eaten in that manner ever. This means there is no chance that you would be serving lasagne, cheeseburgers, and blue cheese on the steak to them ever.

In general, we can found three general categories which cover dairy, meat, and parve. In some places, parve is also written as pareve and the food items consist in it is mostly free from dairy and meat which includes fish, any fruit, a different type of grains, vegetables, nuts, various seeds, and eggs.

  1. WHAT DOES THE KOSHER FOOD REVOLVES AROUND IN MEAT, DAIRY, AND OTHER FOOD

Kosher food is very specific about the content it can include and the meat should always be from animals who have split hooves and chew on the given cud. Examples of these animals are cows, sheep, deer, and goats.

Bird meat is also included except for those birds of prey. The allowed ones are chickens, ducks, and turkeys. The off-limits animals include camels, reptiles, rodents, insects, and kangaroos.

Chef prepares food in the kitchen of their restaurant in Dubai. They run various big-name restaurants in Dubai with their partners which are from various communities. They have to keep in mind every minute detail while preparing the food since there are rules for the gravy as well with it being gravy, broth, bones, and gelatine. Only those meat or bones are allowed where the animals are slaughtered in such a manner that they felt a minimal amount of pain and it should be quick. After draining the blood completely it is then brought to the kitchen.

Once a person has consumed the kosher food which is made sure that few certain parts of animals weren’t included in the food such as fat, nerves, and blood, he or she isn’t allowed to consume dairy or any relatable product for the next four to six hours of it.

However, the dairy product which is allowed to have to should also be from a kosher animal and all the derivatives such as milk, yogurt, butter, cheese, and ice cream can only be then consumed. Another thing to be kept in mind is while processing the same, the equipment included shouldn’t be used for the meat.

  1. SLAUGHTER AND PREPARATION RELATED TO THIS

All the meat which is considered to be eaten in the kosher food should come from animals slaughtered least painfully and usually, the knife used for cutting the throat has to be extremely sharp to carry out the process.

Another thing to be kept in mind that no ordinary butcher can do that and only certified kosher butchers by rabbi are allowed to do that. Once the slaughtering is done, the meat is checked and washed out thoroughly to remove all the blood.

  1. HOW IS IT ANY DIFFERENT THAN HALAL The question that regarding Dubai kosher vs halal is been asked a lot but there are few similarities to get started with such as in both the methods pork and halal is prohibited along with the strict ban on alcohol. The difference lies in the slaughtering since any Muslim is allowed to slaughter the animal and once done a prayer is recited for each one of them however with the kosher animals, only a trainer and certified butcher is allowed to slaughter that recitation of prayer is done over the first and the final animal slaughtered.
